Seven Oaks General Hospital (GOOGLE STREET VIEW)
Winnipeg police have charged a 30-year-old man in connection with an unprovoked assault on an elderly victim outside Seven Oaks General Hospital.
A 74-year-old man was attacked while walking toward the hospital’s urgent care entrance on Tuesday evening. The suspect reportedly assaulted the victim, causing him to fall and strike his head on the sidewalk, leaving him unconscious. The victim was treated for upper-body injuries and stabilized.
Officers identified the suspect and arrested Patee Hae Htoo, 30, on Thursday, who also had an outstanding Canada Border Services Agency immigration warrant. He has been charged with assault and remains in custody, with CBSA notified of his detention.
The investigation is ongoing.
