Manitoba RCMP say a Winnipeg woman died Friday after being involved in a seven-vehicle crash.
The pileup happened at around 9:45 a.m. near Fermor Avenue and Symington Road amid blustery winter conditions.
RCMP, Springfield Fire Rescue, and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were all on scene treating the injured.
A 30-year-old Winnipeg woman driving one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased on scene. Officers believe she was struck by another vehicle when she exited her own.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
RCMP continue to investigate.
The crash was just one of dozens that emergency crews responded to as a winter storm blew through on Friday.
Shortly after noon, the Manitoba government urged drivers to avoid all roadways in the southern part of the province as storm conditions have reduced visibility to near-zero in some areas.
