Manitoba RCMP apprehended two suspects on Monday who were connected to a stolen vehicle tracked to Onanole from Winnipeg.

The incident unfolded after police received a call at approximately 8 a.m. about the stolen vehicle’s location.

The vehicle, initially reported in Neepawa, was later tracked heading toward Onanole. RCMP officers from Dauphin, Neepawa, Wasagaming, and the Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) responded.

Officers located the stolen vehicle at a business on Wapati Drive in Onanole, with two male occupants inside. The driver was arrested without resistance, but the passenger fled on foot. PDS Marook tracked the fleeing suspect, leading to his arrest shortly after.

Christian Morin, 28, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Brendan Neufeld, 25, of Steinbach, faces the same charge, along with resisting arrest. Neufeld also had an outstanding warrant from Winnipeg.

Both suspects have been released with court dates pending. The investigation is ongoing.
