Winnipeg police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that injured a man inside an Osborne Street lounge on February 6.

Officers were flagged down around 4:15 a.m. and found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound inside Moonlight Lounge. The victim was transported to hospital and upgraded to stable condition.

Investigators determined that an argument between two groups inside the closed establishment escalated into a physical altercation before the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The lounge owner, 48, was also arrested and charged with obstruction but was released on an appearance notice.

On February 11, police arrested Samuel Akuok Mayen, 33, in the area of Cheriton Avenue and Rothesay Street. He has been charged with assault and aggravated assault and remains in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Winnipeg police at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS.
