Manitobans are invited to a Rally for Canada at the Legislative Building on Sunday, April 6, Premier Wab Kinew announced on Friday.
“At a time when Manitobans and Canadians are united, we want to invite every Manitoban to join us at the people’s building to celebrate our beautiful province and our great nation,” said Kinew, in a release.
“Bring your kids, your family and your friends to show their Manitoban and Canadian pride and send a message — we will never be the 51st state.”
The event, running from 1 to 3 p.m., aims to celebrate Manitoba’s identity and Canadian unity.
The rally will feature family-friendly activities, performances by local artists including Fred Penner, and a variety of food trucks. The event is free and open to all.
