A 31-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges following an investigation by police into child pornography shared online.
Authorities began investigating in February 2025 after illicit material was found on various internet platforms. A suspect was identified, and on Wednesday, Winnipeg police, along with military police and the technological crimes unit, executed a search warrant at a Canadian Armed Forces Base, seizing several electronic devices and taking the suspect into custody.
Investigators allege the man photographed a known child between May 2018 and April 2019 and shared the images online. They later learned the suspect had also coerced the child into sexual activity in 2020.
He has been charged with several offences, including possession and distribution of child pornography and invitation to sexual touching. He was released with conditions barring internet access and contact with minors. His name is being withheld to protect the identity of the survivor.
