A routine traffic stop late Saturday night led to the seizure of nearly $100,000 in cash and the arrest of two individuals.

At 11:14 p.m. on June 15, officers pulled over a vehicle in the 2200 block of McPhillips Street and discovered the 21-year-old driver was operating with a suspended licence. During the stop, police found drug paraphernalia, multiple cell phones, and a large sum of cash.

Arvin Toni Pena Umali, 21, was charged with possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000 and remains in custody. A 17-year-old male passenger faces the same charge and was released with a court date.
