The City of Winnipeg will begin its annual emerald ash borer treatment program on Monday, June 23, weather permitting.
Crews will treat ash trees in several neighbourhoods on weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through August.
The program will target insect management areas:
- 25 (Beaumont, Crescent Park, Maybank, Wildwood)
- 30 (Central River Heights)
- 31 (Crescentwood, North River Heights, Wellington Crescent)
- 32 (Grant Park, Rockwood)
- 40 (Minto, St. Matthews)
- 41 (Wolseley)
- 42 (Daniel McIntyre, West Alexander)
- 46 (Dufferin, Logan C.P.R., Lord Selkirk Park)
City-owned ash trees will be treated with TreeAzin, a Health Canada–approved insecticide injected directly into the tree by licensed applicators.
