WINNIPEG — With temperatures expected to feel above 40 with the humidex, Country Thunder organizers have issued a heat advisory ahead of tonight’s concert at Princess Auto Stadium.
Gates open at 5 p.m., and fans are urged to hydrate well before and during the event and to avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks, which can worsen dehydration. Eating water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables is also recommended.
Attendees may bring one sealed water bottle (up to 1L) or an empty reusable bottle to use at refill stations inside the venue.
Organizers advise wearing light, breathable clothing and taking breaks in shaded areas when needed.
Tonight’s performers include headliner Riley Green, Madeline Merlo, Petric and Catie St. Germaine. Due to illness, Nate Smith will not perform.
As part of the Thunder Stadium Concert Series, Toque, Foreigner, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Def Leppard all performed at Wednesday night’s Rockin’ Thunder show. The inaugural event drew approximately 22,500 people, with 20,000 more fans expected tonight. Tickets remain available through Ticketmaster.
