A Manitoba corrections officer has been arrested and charged following the sexual assaults of two incarcerated men who were receiving medical treatment at a Winnipeg hospital.

According to Winnipeg police, both incidents occurred under similar circumstances. In December 2024 and again in January 2025, the victims were assaulted while under hospital guard. In each case, one of the two officers temporarily left the room, leaving the victims alone with the accused. One of the assaults involved a weapon, and one victim was physically injured. Both men delayed reporting the assaults.
