Partial human remains have been located near the University of Manitoba in the south end of Winnipeg.
City police say that officers responded to “suspicious circumstances” just after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the riverbank of the Red River, near Markham Road and University Crescent.
Partial human remains were located and recovered, according to police.
“It is still too early to confirm the identity of the partial remains and this investigation is continuing,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
No further information has been released.
