A 21-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after a series of violent incidents in Winnipeg that left another woman seriously injured.
Police say the violence began in June 2025, when a woman in her 20s visited a relative at an apartment in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood. After being denied entry, she allegedly snuck into the suite and pushed the victim, who was sitting on a window sill, causing her to fall to the concrete below. The victim suffered serious injuries, but no police report was made at the time.
On September 4, the two women crossed paths again on Selkirk Avenue. Police say the accused attacked the victim with her own crutches and kicked her injured leg before fleeing with the crutches, leaving the woman immobile. The following day, the victim received threats of further harm during a phone call.
Officers arrested Presley Whitmore, 21, later that evening. She has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, uttering threats, and multiple breaches of a conditional sentence order. She remains in custody.
