Starting October 1, visitors to Winnipeg’s Exchange District will have more time to park.
The City of Winnipeg is extending on-street paid parking limits from two hours to three hours in select areas near the RRC Polytech Exchange District campus and Manitoba Centennial Centre for the Arts.
The city says the one-year pilot aims to address long-standing concerns about short parking windows for students, arts patrons, and visitors.

Drivers can pay with the PayByPhone app, prepaid booklets, or at meters, and may extend sessions for an extra 30 minutes for a maximum of three-and-a-half hours. Evening and Sunday free-parking rules remain unchanged, and Saturday parking continues to allow up to four hours.
The city will evaluate the pilot after a year to determine its impact on parking availability.
