Winnipeg police say a 55-year-old man suffered a serious, life-altering injury while waiting in line for coffee on Monday.

The victim was standing at a shelter in the first 100 block of Disraeli Freeway while he and another man began arguing.

The suspect turned around and punched the victim in the face, breaking his glasses and causing him to fall backwards to the ground. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.
