Winnipeg police have arrested a 38-year-old man following the theft of a backpack from a locker at a fitness centre on Doncaster Street.

Police say the theft happened Tuesday evening, and the stolen backpack contained a wallet and other personal items. Shortly after, bank cards from the wallet were used to make purchases at several stores along Portage Avenue.
