Winnipeg police are investigating a violent home invasion and robbery that left two men with gunshot wounds in the city’s Mandalay West neighbourhood.
Officers responded to a residence on Bachman Bay on the evening of October 9, where police say a jewellery business operates. When they arrived, officers found two men, aged 56 and 33, suffering from lower-body gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital — one in unstable condition, the other stable.
Investigators say five suspects arrived at the home in a black 2020 or 2021 Volkswagen Jetta, circled the neighbourhood several times, and then stopped in front of the residence. Four masked suspects entered the home, shot the two victims, and stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery before fleeing in the waiting vehicle.
The Jetta was last seen driving westbound on Jefferson Avenue from Argate Bay. Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact them at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS.
