WINNIPEG — Harvest Manitoba’s 40th anniversary celebration set a new fundraising record, with this year’s sold-out Empty Bowls Celebrity Auction Dinner bringing in $1.4 million to support Manitobans in need.
Held at the RBC Convention Centre on Thursday night, the event drew more than 900 attendees for an evening of fine dining prepared by top Manitoba chefs, live performances, personal stories from Harvest clients, and a spirited auction.
The signature feature of the annual event includes an online auction of one-of-a-kind bowls autographed by celebrities from film, music, sports, and science.
Proceeds from the evening will help Harvest Manitoba continue to provide food, career support, and community programs to more than 100,000 Manitobans each month through its network of over 400 partners.
Bidding for the celebrity bowls and other prizes continues online until Saturday, October 18, at 10 p.m. CT at can.givergy.com/harvestmanitoba.
