Two people are facing multiple charges after RCMP seized drugs during a traffic stop in Dauphin last Friday.

Dauphin RCMP say officers stopped a vehicle on 6th Avenue SW at around 4:20 p.m. while on patrol. The female driver was known to police as unlicensed and prohibited from being in the City of Dauphin, and was arrested without incident.

A search of the driver led officers to search the vehicle, where they seized about 22 grams of methamphetamine, Canadian currency, drug paraphernalia, oxycodone, clonazepam and other drugs. Police also say the driver tested positive for cocaine on a roadside screening test.

Shannon Gauthier, 31, of Camperville, was remanded into custody and charged with multiple counts, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, failing to comply with a release order, driving without a licence and operating a vehicle while unable to pass a drug screening test.

The passenger, Sean Bouchie, 44, of Dauphin, was also arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
