Clear Lake is positioning itself as a standout winter destination with the construction of a large, enclosed snow structure designed to anchor cold-season tourism, events, and wellness experiences.
At the centre of the initiative in the Riding Mountain National Park townsite is the Klar So Snow Pavilion, described as the largest roofed snow structure in Western Canada. Rising about 16 feet tall and stretching nearly 50 feet long, the pavilion is being built in the heart of Wasagaming as a multi-use winter gathering space that blends snow architecture, visual art, and community programming.

Organizers say the structure is intended to complement Clear Lake’s winter skating trails while strengthening the community’s emerging identity as a cold-weather destination.
Designed in collaboration with Anvil Tree, the pavilion draws inspiration from childhood snow forts while incorporating contemporary winter design. It will function as a warming and social hub for visitors taking part in winter activities such as skating, snowshoeing, and park exploration.

Clear Lake Country plans to use the pavilion as the central venue for its winter programming, including Fire + Frost, a signature winter festival scheduled for March 13 to 15. The festival will feature outdoor adventure, art, music, fire elements, and community gatherings. The pavilion is also expected to host curated winter culinary experiences highlighting Manitoba chefs and seasonal ingredients, with full programming details to be announced.
Construction of the Klar So Snow Pavilion is currently underway, with additional event and programming announcements expected in the coming weeks.
