Manitoba RCMP have arrested two more people as part of an ongoing investigation into a drug trafficking network operating on the Bunibonibee Cree Nation.

The investigation, known as Project Derry, was launched in June following multiple incidents in the community.

Police say Shaylee Grieves, 22, was arrested on December 28 on an outstanding warrant. She is charged with conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Gordon Hart Jr., 37, was arrested on January 3 and is charged with conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance. Both suspects are from the Bunibonibee Cree Nation and remain in custody.

To date, 27 people have been charged in connection with Project Derry. Warrants remain outstanding for two additional suspects, Carly Beardy, 33, and Brittney Robinson, 34, who also face charges related to drug trafficking.

RCMP say further arrests and charges are expected as the investigation continues.
