Global apparel retailer UNIQLO is opening its first Winnipeg location at CF Polo Park mall this spring.

The brand says the expansion reflects growing demand in Canada for its LifeWear clothing, which focuses on simple, high-quality apparel designed for everyday life. Since opening its first Canadian store in Toronto in 2016, UNIQLO has expanded steadily across the country.

“This is a massive milestone for UNIQLO in Canada. As UNIQLO continues to resonate with Canadian customers, Winnipeg offers exciting potential,” said Yuya Tanahashi, the company’s chief operating officer, in a release.

“We aim to deliver essential clothing that complements their lifestyles as building blocks of their wardrobe.”

The Winnipeg store will offer UNIQLO’s full lineup for men, women, children, and babies, along with seasonal collaborations and the UT graphic T-shirt collection. Shoppers will also be able to access the retailer’s online store alongside the in-store experience.

A second Winnipeg location is planned for later this year at St. Vital Centre.

UNIQLO operates more than 2,500 stores worldwide, including 37 locations across Canada.
