A 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with a series of robberies, thefts, and mischief incidents targeting commercial businesses in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg police say officers responded just after 3 p.m. Thursday to a business in the 200 block of Henderson Highway after staff recognized a man believed to be responsible for an earlier robbery. Officers located the suspect and arrested him.
Officers determined the man was linked to multiple incidents between October 2025 and February 2026, including several robberies along Henderson Highway where the suspect was armed with a knife or a metal grinder. Police allege he also threatened staff and caused property damage at other businesses on Talbot Avenue and Gateway Road.
Investigators say the incidents resulted in more than $2,700 in stolen merchandise and damage. No injuries were reported.
Johnathon Cushnie has been charged with seven counts of robbery, uttering threats, theft under $5,000, and mischief under $5,000. He was detained in custody.
