A Winnipeg pastor has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly grooming and sexually exploiting a teenage youth camp counsellor.
Winnipeg police received information in March 2026 regarding a sexual assault involving an adult pastor who directed a youth camp group. Investigators allege the accused forged a sexual relationship with the teenage counsellor between August 2025 and March 2026 by grooming the victim and gaining their trust.
The survivor met with the accused on multiple occasions in private and also received sexually explicit material from him.
Carson Alexander Parago, 23, has been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication, and transmitting or distributing sexually explicit material to a person under 18 years of age.
Parago was released on conditions. The charges haven’t been tested in court.
