Visitors to the Red River Ex on Monday, June 15 will have the chance to meet Canadian Armed Forces members and explore interactive military displays as part of Heroes’ Day.
The event will feature a small arms exhibit from 38 Canadian Brigade Group, naval displays from HMCS Chippawa, and a historical exhibit from 17 Wing Winnipeg showcasing the Royal Canadian Air Force’s ties to Manitoba and Western Canada.
The highlight of the evening is a Search and Rescue Technician parachute demonstration at approximately 7 p.m., with a CC-130H Hercules aircraft from 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron. Visitors will be able to meet the SAR Techs following the jump. The demonstration is subject to change or cancellation due to weather or operational requirements.
The RCAF Rock Band will also perform two sets on the Red River Exhibition’s main stage.
