Winnipeg Transit (CITY OF WINNIPEG / FILE)
Winnipeg Transit’s summer schedule will soon take effect, bringing several route adjustments and service improvements across the network.
The seasonal schedule kicks in Sunday, June 21, signalling the relocation of the D19 Corydon route to its terminal on Kennedy Street, putting transit closer to the Winnipeg Clinic, Graham Avenue, Manitoba Hydro Place, and Canada Life Centre.
The D16 Notre Dame route will be split into two separate routes for simpler, more reliable service, according to the city. The new D16 will run from Polo Park to downtown via Academy, River/Stradbrook, Tache, and Main, while the new D18 will connect RRC Notre Dame to downtown via Notre Dame and William.
Winnipeg Transit is also expanding the south boundary of On-Request zone 106 from Edison Avenue to Kimberly Avenue, improving evening and weekend coverage in the area.
Summer schedule changes will also apply to routes 332, 334, 336, 440, 442, 444, 446, 649, 662, 671, 672, 676, 677, 688, F7, F9, and FX2.
