A 25-year-old man from the RM of Westlake-Gladstone has died following a collision at an uncontrolled intersection in the RM Tuesday evening.

Manitoba RCMP responded to the crash at approximately 8:20 p.m., after a southbound SUV on Road 51 West collided with a westbound pickup truck on Road 94 North.

When officers arrived, they found the pickup truck in the south ditch with a hydro pole leaning against it, while the SUV rested on its side about 10 to 15 feet away. Both vehicles had extensive front-end damage, police said.

The SUV driver later died in hospital. The pickup driver, a 72-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
