A 25-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges after allegedly waving a handgun at another motorist on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Portage la Prairie.

RCMP responded to the report on Tuesday morning, after a motorist said a man driving erratically waved a handgun through his vehicle’s sunroof after passing another car.

RCMP located the suspect vehicle travelling west of Portage la Prairie about 20 minutes later and pulled it over near the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 16. The suspect was arrested without incident.

He was released on an undertaking, with his first court appearance scheduled for September.
