A Winnipeg Sea Bears player is recovering in hospital after being assaulted downtown on Sunday evening.
The team says Teddy Allen was the victim of an assault and is currently receiving medical care.
“Head coach and general manager Mike Raimbault and chair David Asper have been at the hospital with Teddy this morning,” the CEBL team said in a statement.
“Our focus is on Teddy’s health and supporting him and his family.”
Details on what happened haven’t been released. The Sea Bears say they are cooperating fully as Winnipeg police investigate.
