A two-vehicle collision in the RM of Stanley has claimed the life of a Plum Coulee man.

Pembina Valley RCMP responded to the crash late Thursday morning, at an uncontrolled four-way gravel intersection at Road 17 North and Road 19 West.

Police said an eastbound truck hauling a flat-bed trailer collided with a northbound truck hauling a garbage trailer. Both vehicles ended up in the northeast ditch.

The driver of the truck with the flat-bed trailer, a 35-year-old man from Plum Coulee, died at the scene.

The other driver, a 42-year-old man from the RM of Stanley, was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate.
