A 58-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a fatal stabbing at a Northern Store in Shamattawa.
Manitoba RCMP responded to a report of an assault at the store at approximately 3 p.m. on August 28. Officers located a seriously injured man suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound.
Police say the male suspect, who was known to the victim, was still on scene and was arrested without incident.
The 36-year-old victim was taken to the local nursing station, where he died of his injuries.
Rodney Beardy, 58, of Shamattawa, has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the man’s death. He remains in custody.
RCMP continue to investigate.
