A pilot and passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a small plane went off the runway during an air show at the Portage la Prairie Airport.
Manitoba RCMP received a report of the incident at approximately 4:10 p.m. last Sunday.
Officers learned the aircraft was taking off from the runway during the air show when it malfunctioned. The pilot aborted the takeoff and attempted to bring the plane to a safe stop, but it went off the end of the runway and into a ditch.
The pilot, a 61-year-old man, and a 54-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital in Portage la Prairie for treatment.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified of the incident.
