Montreal Alouettes defensive end John Bowman won’t be rolling out the red carpet for Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris.

On the eve of Harris making his return from a two-game suspension for a positive drug test, Bowman made it clear he didn’t feel the punishment was stiff enough for the CFL’s leading rusher.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers star running back was back practising with the team Tuesday after serving a two-game suspension for testing positive for an anabolic steroid called metandienone.

WINNIPEG — Wade Miller wants to make sure football fans enjoy Thursday’s NFL pre-season game in Winnipeg between the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers, even if they can’t afford to be in the stands.

The president and CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers said the CFL team and the Raiders are hosting a viewing party downtown so fans can watch the Week 3 exhibition contest live-streamed from IG Field, home of the Bombers.

WINNIPEG — Matt Nichols was at Blue Bombers practice on Monday, but the starting quarterback was wearing a tank top and only watched his teammates go through their paces.

Head coach Mike O’Shea said after practice that Nichols was going on the six-game injured list with an unspecified upper-body injury that does not require surgery. He’ll be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks.
