The body pulled from the Red River on Sunday has been identified as a missing 15-year-old girl.
Winnipeg police recovered the body of Tina Fontaine Sunday near the Alexander Docks. She had been reported missing on August 9 and was last seen in the downtown area on August 8.
The discovery is being treated as a homicide and the investigation is continuing. Images from the scene show Fontaine being recovered in a tied bag.
At the time of her disappearance, Fontaine was wearing a white skirt, blue jacket and pink and white runners.
Fontaine’s family has been notified and police are looking for those responsible for her death.
