The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada is hosting the first of seven national public gatherings in Winnipeg from June 16 to 19.
The four-day event will be an opportunity to learn about the history of the residential schools many survivors once spent time in, and to share experiences of former students and families.
Organizers were searching for accommodation in May to house members of the group, and now another call has been put out for volunteers.
