Ringing wedding bells will be on the minds of many soon-to-be brides this weekend as the Wonderful Wedding Show takes over the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
The wedding consumer show will feature over 300 displays showing off the latest wedding gowns, tuxedos, photographers, florists, caterers, gifts, and prize giveaways.
Couples can also enter to win a dream wedding valued at over $20,000 at the Fairmont Winnipeg, including a honeymoon vacation. Entry forms will be available at the Hot 103 display.
Couples who pre-register for the show can be entered to win hourly door prizes, plus diamond wedding bands from W.K. Chan Jewellers. Early registration also gets couples into the show at 10 a.m.
Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz will even be in attendance this year, according to what he told Ace Burpee on Monday. Katz is set to marry girlfriend Leah Pasuta later this year. Oh, and Sam tells Ace there will be an open bar if you’re fortunate enough to be invited to the big day.
Tickets are $12 plus an agency fee at Ticketmaster. Show times are Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with fashion shows at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the show will go to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s “Kiss for a Cure” program.
