Admission to the Assiniboine Park Zoo is free this weekend, making up for the usually free Canada Day activities at the zoo.
On Saturday and Sunday, the public can visit the zoo and see the many attractions, including the new Red Panda cubs in the Toucan Ridge exhibit.
“This is a great opportunity with two full days for the community to visit all the incredible animals we have to offer,” said Margaret Redmond, president and CEO of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy. “Autumn is a wonderful time to enjoy the Zoo and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone this weekend.”
A colourful new 42-seat tram will help visitors navigate their way around the property, while riders hear interesting facts about the zoo and animals.
Extended hours are in effect this weekend — Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
