RCMP are investigating a homicide after a suspect turned him into police on Tuesday.
Police say the 44-year-old Flin Flon man came to the local RCMP detachment, telling officers he had committed a murder. Police later found 21-year-old Raylene Dawn Grant deceased in a room inside the Royal Hotel in Flin Flon.
James Noel Desmarais has been charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody. He will appear in The Pas court on Thursday.
The accused and the victim — both from Flin Flon — were known to each other.
An autopsy on the woman is underway in Winnipeg.
