A six-year-old girl from Oxford House was killed Thursday in a tragic accident in the northern Manitoba community after returning from school.
RCMP say the girl was dropped off at home by a school bus at about 3 p.m. and was run over as the bus drove away.
The girl was taken to the local nursing station after the 43-year-old bus driver sought medical assistance. She was later pronounced deceased.
Police are continuing to investigate and say no other injuries were reported.
The girl’s name isn’t being released.
