Winnipeg Company Donating Turkeys to Siloam Mission

Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street (HANDOUT)

Siloam Mission shouldn’t have any trouble feeding guests on Christmas Eve after a large donation later today.

The downtown homeless shelter will receive 102 turkeys, as well as a $4,000 cash donation from Color Ad Group. The donation will help serve Siloam’s more than 700 guests on December 24.

The Winnipeg-based company’s CEO, Ty Schneider, will fly in from Toronto to personally deliver the birds at 11:15 a.m.

“These turkeys are flying in at the right time,” said Floyd Perras, executive director of Siloam Mission, as volunteers begin to prep for the big meal.

“To have a local company approach us out of the blue with a huge donation, and for the owner and CEO to fly in just to deliver that donation, is almost unheard of.”
