The Winnipeg Goldeyes will be out in the community leading up to the 2012 season as the team visits four junior hockey teams.

The Goldeyes and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League have partnered to have the Fish visit the Portage Terriers, Selkirk Steelers, Steinbach Pistons and Winkler Flyers as part of a four-night tour.

“While the Goldeyes provide entertainment to thousands of fans during the summer, junior hockey in these four communities provide entertainment to thousands of fans during the winter,” Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said. “Our organization is thrilled to visit Portage, Selkirk, Steinbach and Winkler and encourage fans to support their local team and visit us at one of the four games.”

Fans at the hockey games will get to meet Goldeyes third baseman Amos Ramon, interact with team mascot Goldie and enter to win a Goldeyes prize package.

The team will visit Steinbach on Friday, Selkirk on January 27, Portage on February 17 and Winkler on February 18.
