If you’re not expecting a knock at the door starting Wednesday, it may be one of the city’s water meter readers.
From 2:30 p.m. to dusk, the City of Winnipeg will begin making the rounds to record water meter readings from homes.
Readers will be dressed in dark blue pants or shorts, and a light blue striped shirt with a City of Winnipeg Water and Waste logo over the pocket. All readers wear photo identification and carry a hand-held computer.
Meter readings will take place only on weekdays and run until the end of August. Regular meter readings prevent estimated bills and can signal costly plumbing leaks.
