This year’s Challenge for Life event is 100 walkers short and the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is putting the call out for people to register quickly.

“This is serious money for a serious cause,” said Annitta Stenning, the foundation’s executive director. Each participant must raise $1,000 and walk 20 kilometres on June 9.

“By setting a personal health goal, participants are also pledging to reduce their own cancer risk.”

Millions of dollars for cancer treatment and research has been raised over the past five years. All money raised stays in Manitoba.

The 5th Annual Challenge for Life 20k Walk begins with opening ceremonies at 8:30 am. The walk begins and ends at Assiniboine Park.
