A group of politicians will cycle this morning to City Hall to promote Bike to Work Day on June 22.
At 9:30 a.m., Mayor Sam Katz, Fort Rouge councillor Jenny Gerbasi, and Local Government Minister Ron Lemieux will bike from the Manitoba legislature to City Hall for the 10 a.m. kick off.
A representative from Manitoba Public Insurance and Bike to Work Day organizers will join them.
The day encourages commuters to ditch their vehicles and bike to work/school as a way of reducing the impact on the environment and to lead a healthier lifestyle.
