The second day of the Winnipeg Folk Festival on Thursday brought British singer-songwriter Billy Bragg to the main stage. The 54-year-old performed his mix of folk music and punk rock for thousands at Birds Hill Park.
Also taking the stage was comedian and singer Kevin McDonald from “Kids in the Hall” fame, Royal Wood, Martyn Joseph, and Bill Frisell’s tribute to the music of John Lennon.
Tonight at the festival (starting at 6 p.m.) — Sidi Touré, Kim Churchill, Matt Andersen, Yves Lambert Trio, Beth Orton, Atomic Duo, Junior Brown, Sarah and the Christian Dugas, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
If the rain this morning has you questioning your festival plans, Environment Canada says the skies should clear by early this afternoon. The expected high is 28°C with a UV index of 8. Better pack the sunscreen.
