Global Winnipeg Taking Newscasts on the Road

Global WinnipegGlobal Winnipeg is leaving the studio and taking its newscasts into the community later this month.

Beginning Tuesday, August 13, Global’s “Morning News” will broadcast from the pedway system below 201 Portage Avenue until Friday, August 30.

The “Evening News” and “News Hour Final” will broadcast from various locations around the city during the same weeks, according to a release from Shaw Media.

“The Global News LIVE on Location tour gives us a chance to focus on locally-rooted content in the heart of the community and interact with viewers on a one-on-one level,” said managing editor Jon Lovlin. “We are dedicated to bringing viewers the stories that matter most night after night and this tour will showcase that dedication.”

Viewers will have a chance to meet morning show news anchors Eva Kovacs, Derek Taylor, and weather anchor Mike Koncan on August 20 and August 27 from 9-10 a.m.
