Festival du Voyageur organizers are trying to figure out how someone made off with 320 logs from Fort Gibraltar over the weekend.
The 19-foot logs are valued at $10,000 and are part of a federal grant to help fix up the Fort. The wood was to replace existing walls of the structure and to be used on the cabins inside the Fort as well.
Construction on the Fort was to take place over the next two years, but the theft could now set back the project significantly.
