Strong winds have prompted the province to issue wind alerts for Lake Winnipeg and areas of Lake Manitoba.
High north-northwest winds developing Tuesday afternoon and evening will continue into Wednesday, resulting in a severe wind warning for the south basin of Lake Winnipeg and a high wind warning for the south basin of Lake Manitoba.
Lake Manitoba is currently at 813.64 feet while the south basin of Lake Winnipeg was last measured at 714.8 ft.
Winds are forecast to increased up to 55 km/h into Wednesday. Wind speed and direction could raise levels by as much as five feet or more along the south shores of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba.
Property owners are advised to take precautions.
