St. Vital Centre (MALL-EXPRESS.COM)
Winnipeg police officers will join students from school divisions across the city today in the 8th annual Winnipeg COPSHOP event.
Police will accompany students through St. Vital Centre to purchase their Christmas presents with a $200 gift card.
School divisions select 60 students for the event based on need, specific academic or sporting achievements and volunteerism.
COPSHOP is an opportunity for police to connect positively with youths to foster life-long relations with law enforcement and their community.
Students will also receive a pizza lunch and a gift bag donated by the merchants of the mall. All costs associated with the event are covered by St. Vital Centre.
