The Winnipeg Foundation awarded a record $22.9 million in charity grants in 2014.
A total of 860 organizations benefited from funding last year, including Good Neighbours, which provides a variety of programs and supports to Winnipeg seniors.
“The past year has been a remarkable one for the Winnipeg Foundation,” said CEO Richard Frost. “We are grateful for the strong support we receive from people of all walks of life. The remarkable generosity of Winnipeggers, combined with positive returns in the markets, has allowed for this terrific granting year – and that means huge benefit for our entire community.”
Endowments have reached more than $600 million for the organization through grant money drawn annually from more than 2,800 endowments.
