Brandon now has a gateway to the east with seasonal WestJet flights to Toronto.

The airline announced Monday its non-stop summer routes will begin in June, with service to and from Brandon and Toronto four times weekly.

“After a long wait, Brandon travellers will be able to fly non-stop to Toronto and access WestJet’s growing list of domestic and international destinations beyond Toronto Pearson,” said John Weatherill, director of network and schedule planning.

WestJet currently services Brandon via flights to and from Calgary, but recently cut down to 11 flights per week from the usual 14 flights per week.

Flights will depart from Toronto at 9:25 p.m. ET and arrive in Brandon at 11:18 p.m. beginning June 28. Service out of Brandon to Toronto begins June 29 at 5:15 a.m., arriving at 8:39 a.m. ET.

One-way airfare is $215.97, including all taxes and fees.

The seasonal flights will run until September 5, 2016.

WestJet also announced two more non-stop seasonal routes between Vancouver and both Hamilton, and London, ON.
